Today is our dearest Telvin's 21st birthday & we had a birthday celebration dinner with him at Rosette, Sha Villa Hotel located at Somerset area. We had a 5 main course meal which consists of :

1. Appetizer- Cold seasoned grill chicken

I think the food is good. Value for money as well. What do you think?

personally, i think it is pretty gd tt jx actualli bring out the issue on 'initiative'... i guess everyone notices the same situaltion every single gathering since moons ago... well.. i believe tt everyone has a role to play as it takes both hands to clap ((: so lets make this work out fer the next coming gathering session a more fulfilling one! let's have 'sharing is caring' session in the coming cny meetings :P

Misunderstanding

Firstly, i'm not attacking you by saying that sentence. Maybe i shouldn't use the word "girls", using the word "people" might be better. I just wrote down what u have told me. But i didn't expect things will turn up like this. I think i've made a mistake. I thought we know you quite well, but as you said, it is not.

Secondly, I didn't say u are sux in planning. So pls dun get my idea wrongly. What i'm going to say is we have different opinion in the arrangement & i just say out what i feel.. I believe u can accept my different opinion from u rite?

Thirdly, i'm glad that u have tried talking to everyone to ensure the people do not feel bored at the party. A good organiser should be doing all it, socialise with everyone. Thats wad i'm trying to tell everyone to learn this point from u. Initiative! Everyone of us play a part. So pls dun misunderstood my meaning.

I hope i have clear the misunderstand between u & me..

Back to the point, "INITIATIVE" is the topic we are going to talk about. Maybe we can use yanshan's method: 2 guys sit beside 1 girl. Haha~ sounds like those matching session, looking for partners. Actually it's quite hard to let 25 of us to mingle around. i think we should implement some methods. Since we have a smaller group of girls, maybe we can just move from 1 guy groups to another. But I still think this isn't the best way.

Thx 4 de feedbacks n comments... After i read MH, YS and Telvin opinions, i believe we have draw some light y our gatherings always end up here 1 grp guys n there 1 grp girls... However, i tink de most impt ting 4 this topic is 2 look at ways 2 improve our further gatherings n nt so much 2 saying telvin whether he can tak teasing or go talk 2 which particular girl... If there is any clash of ego frm opinions, i would strongly like 2 say it is juz a misunderstanding n tt every1 hu had written in this blog is helping further gathering 2 b even more successful than de Xmas 1... So hopefully more pple can give some feedbacks or leave a shout out...

Initiative is the word.

To my opinion, it's a trend or rather a tradition/habit for us to hang around with the same group of people for the past few years. Since it's a gathering, it means that we haven't been meeting up for quite some time. It's very naturally for us to talk to the same gender as we will feel more comfortable & i think we will have more topics to talk to.

i don't think teasing is a problem to the girls. We are all grown up adults & we girls believe the guys will not be so childish to tease us using primary/secondary school methods. The most the guy will tease the girl about her fat-ness la or so. haha~ Thats nothing la. If the teasing is the truth, wad are we afraid of? the most we ask them to shut up. So we are definiately not afraid of any teasing.

The christmas gathering was just a few hours. It was filled with games, singing, eating. I believe not only the girls, the guys will also think that time is not enough if we were to catch up with everyone of us. I don't think sitting in a big circle is a good way for communicate. There are 25 of us in the room, and if we were to sit in 1 big circle, i think it will be even hard to communicate. We are not going to shout across the room and chat as the music is quite loud & not going to bend forward or backwards to talk to the person beside u. Another reason is i can't move the chairs & tables into a big circle as well. It damm heavy & tedious for me to move into 1 big circle. There are more than 40 chairs in the room & i have to figure how to arrange the remaining chairs as we only need 25 chairs. It's really tough for me to move alone. Luckily mingzhi came to help when he reached the place, if not, we really had insufficient time to arrange it. Thanks MingZhi! Actually, if u notice, we can fill up half of the room & we can still chat if all of us sit together in that area.

No matter what the layout of the sitting is, how good is the arrangement is, we will eventually mingle around if we really want to interact with each other. It's the matter of whether we want to do it anot. So let's dun push the blame to the shyness, teasing or no topic. The word we should be talking about is "INITIATIVE" . With initiative, there will not be any communication problems. Even if we are to sit together, without initiative, the problem will still be there. girls will tok to the girls, guys will tok to the guys. If we are still unable to take the initiative to communicate, i guess we have to implement a rule in our next gathering.

Yes, it's not a big deal & we are not going to die if we talk to our opposite sex. I guess those people who "tease" telvin knows what is going on. I believe they have a reason for saying him, not teasing him. We might have to learn 1 thing from telvin, it's his initiative. It's not what telvin has said, " Telvin's Spirit of able to handle those teasing". Cos i guess everyone has the ability to handle it. Telvin knows who are the people he wants to talk to during or outside the party. At least he has taken the initiative to approach them. Thats a good point but it can be a bad point as well. Maybe this is the reason why those people who would want to say him about that. They "teased" him because they know him well. Different people have different thinking & perspective. They are all grown up adults & i'm sure they're mature enough to say something before they speak. so they are not "teasing" telvin in a primary school method.

Clarifying Factors...

Ya, after I had read Muihoon and YanShan reply, I found out that ya "maybe" teasing and shyness is not the point. But one thing from Mh reply, if u are saying pple teasing Telvin is because they know him well. Then I must say it is really a personal attack. And they dun even know me well. During the party, I did not really aimed which ever girl I wan to talk to.(although I did tell u that I am going to do so) If I am really that sux in planning. Then I dun even fit to be planning all those thing for the party. At the party itself, I talk to pratically everyone, no more no less.. trying to make sure everyone does not feel bored during the party. Eyes can see k. I say no more. So pls read through wadever u wan to write before u even press the word publish post. I am tired during work myself. I only felt that the more things written, I felt disgusted. Thanks.. I am not angry, just felt useless to read wad is written. Maybe Junxiang can clarify. Thanks a million.

Re: Shyness And Teasing

Wow... Looks like wad both Junxiang and Yan Shan said are correct. Shy? I dun think anyone of us are that shy. They are afraid of being teased by the rest. It have been so many gathering and our girls and guys still cant mixed. I wonder wad can be done? take the Christmas Gathering for an exmaple. Actually, I would wan the chairs to be form into a big circle so everyone can interact with one another. But did not do so due to in sufficent time. Teasing should be the main problem cause they cant be like me. They have to had the Telvin's Spirit. Nvr feel bad when pple tease me when I start to talk to a girl. Wads the big deal. Pls la. . Grown up k... By talking to opposite sex wont make u feel like u are going to die soon right? Dun bother about the teasing,is just an "additional effect". So guys and gals, no worries, next time we will find one good way to make everyone interact with one another in our next gathering... Take care everyone.. = )

actually we girls do realise the problem.. and we did move over to the guys's seat to talk together during the last part of the xmas dinner.. i guess we girls are alright with talking to guys.. of cos topic restrictions may be a factor. but i think it may be becos we want to avoid teasings from the others and so we prefer to stick to the just the girls.. though we are friends for like 10 years.. but i think teasings will still make the girls n guys feel abit awkard.. so maybe if we cut down on the teasings.. guys n girls will be able to talk n mingle around more comfortably.. but all these are my personal views lah.. just a thought..

but overall.. i think the xmas was realli a success..having more than half the class to meet up is realli great.. n when i told my friends about it.. they were all so amazed n jealous.. haha! i am realli proud of our class.especially Mui Hoon, Ming Zhi n Telvin. they are realli 'shen tong guang da' to be able to reach so many of our classmates.. APPLAUSE TO THEM and to those who attended the party. =) really hope to see even more people on the next gathering!

YoZ guys, realli agree 2 muihoon abt putting abit more effort in keeping alive this blog coz i too felt it is veri nan de tt we all r still keeping in contact ( b it once a yr or wat)... Honestly speaking if u ask any of ur POLY/JC/UNI/SEC/ITE/NS/WORK frenz whether they still keep in contact wif their Pri Sch frenz, de answer will most properly b a NO!!! So i hope tt in future our gathering will continue 2 hav as many pple as de xmas 1...

However 2dae topic is 1 alot of pple will surely agree wif mi... Did u guys ever wonder y since de first gathering till now de girls will chat 1 side while de guys will talk on another side... Take de xmas gathering as an example, u guys can c clearly liao... A few more i believe is de 1 at marina bay eating steamboat, riverside restaurant having indonesia cuisine n de unsucessful BBQ we had a few yrs ago... Haha it is like there is an imaginary line drawn between guys n girls... So if any1 frm our class can enlightened mi, i would realli appreciate it...

22 Dec 2007- MBS Class 6D Christmas Party: Part 1

I'm so sorry for the late posting regarding the christmas party's photos & updates. I'm quite busy recently~.. I will be updating some of the highlights of the party. So please Enjoy! Quite 独家!!!

I shall start off with:
Part1. the K session - Good!

Throughout the singing session, it was so good as we have 1 powerful singer & that is Yan Shan. She's confident in her singing. We also have the sweet vocals like fuei fong, yinyu & keli.. Girls are still shy in nature after all.

Part2. the K session - Not so good!
Why do i put this as lousy k singing? well, it's quite obvious. Telvin & Boon Teck were singing "你最珍贵". It was ok when bt started to sing. But there was a little commotion in the room when telvin started to sing his part. Sounds like " Eeee, Arh" & "Stop singing leh!" can be heard & many people started to leave the room. Dun believe what I've said? Maybe these photos can prove it to u.

The 3 ladies were about to leave the room when telvin started singing. They told us that they were going to the restroom but they returned back after an hour. I guess the singing had really frighten them away from the room.

As u can see from this photo, the guy who is covering his ears is Mr Chuan Hai. That's his reaction after hearing telvin's singing. He really can't stand it. Not onli them, i guess most of us reacted -neg. to his singing. haha~ so interesting~.

On the 22 dec 2007, which was our Christmas Party, no one has realised that it was ronald & shu hui's birthday. I feel quite sad that we didn't wish them, especially ronald as he was with us that all night. U should have told us that it was ur birthday, so that we could sing u a birthday song and smash u with cake or wasabi neh. haha~ hope u have enjoyed urself that night. Anyway, Happy belated birthday! aiyo, it's really damm belated. hee ;)
